Correlation between clinical presentation and pap smear findings by the Bethesda system

Abstract
To reduce the load of cancer cervix in India, cytological screening of all the sexually active women should be done specially in cases of multifarious women and those with low socioeconomic status as these are the significant risk groups for the development of carcinoma cervix. Examination was done in lithotomy position. Placed the cusco ‘s self retaining speculum, without any lubricant and prior to per vaginum examination, to visualize vagina and cervix for any abnormality then put endocervical brush placed inside endocervix and rolled firmly. NILM(63.5%) and SCC (60%)category was more common in urban cases where as ASC-H was more in rural class (66.7%). Cases of LSIL were seen 4 times common in urban group. Cases of ASC-US and HSIL were seen equally between urban and rural groups
