Gut microbial metabolite functional screening platform

Journal Title: Biomedical Transformation - Year 2022, Vol 3, Issue 1

Abstract

Human gut microbial metabolites are closely related to the physiological functions of the human body, and the exploration of the functions of these small molecules is an ongoing topic for researchers. With the development of metagenomics and metabolomics, and the continuous establishment and improvement of in vivo, in vitro and ex vivo models, there are more and more platforms for small molecule functional screening. This paper mainly introduces some commonly used GMM functional screening platforms, and looks forward to new technologies that may be applied in this field in the near future.
