Idiomų vertimo iš anglų į lietuvių kalbą strategijų analizė

Abstract
Straipsnyje analizuojamos vertimo strategijos verčiant iš lietuvių kalbos į anglų kalbą ir nagrinėjamos problemos, su kuriomis susiduria vertėjas versdamas idiomas. Straipsnio tikslas yra bendrai palyginti angliškas ir lietuviškas idiomas, apžvelgti atitikmenų trūkumą vertimo kalboje ir pagrindines idiomų vertimo strategijas bei išnagrinėti R. Kirvaitytės pasirinktas vertimo strategijas, verčiant A. Kristi knygas į lietuvių kalbą. Teorinė dalis paremta M. Baker’io, R. Moon’o, P. Newmark’o ir G. Toury teorijomis. Analizei buvo pasirinkti du A. Kristi romanai Susitikimas su mirtimi (2001) ir Mirtis ant Nilo (1977) bei jų vertimai į lietuvių kalbą. Kiekviena knyga buvo analizuojama atskirai, tačiau šiame straipsnyje pateikta tik labiausiai dominuojančių vertimo strategijų šiose knygose apžvalga. Nors buvo rasta pavyzdžių, kuriuose angliškų idiomų struktūra ir reikšmė buvo identiška vertimui į lietuvių kalbą, tyrimas parodė, kad jų yra labai mažai. Dominuojanti vertimo strategija šiose knygose pasirodė esanti perfrazavimo strategija.
