Journal Title: Професійно-прикладні дидактики - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 3

Abstract

Introduction. A comprehensive review and radical upgrade of the education system is an unchanged major educational problem that has always stood in front of educators in time of important social changes. A modern teacher should understand that the subject he or she teaches is not the main thing, but the personality he or she creates with his activity. A competent student could be brought up only by a competent teacher, and the ability to learn throughout life could be underpinned only by those who have this ability and strive for improvement and self-fulfillment. Therefore, the relevance of the problem is determined by changes that are taking place in terms of reforming of higher education, as the content and objectives of the Chemistry subject require new approaches to the educational process organization aimed at developing the students abilities, forming the independent scientific knowledge and skills as well as personal fulfillment. Solving this problem is not possible only through knowledge transfer in finished form from teacher to student. Therefore the conditions are considered for turning the student from a passive knowledge consumer to the active creator who can independently formulate the problem, analyze and suggest optimal ways and methods for their solution. Methods. The implementation of new educational technologies presupposes the shift of the emphasis from knowledge and skills as the main learning results to formation of students competence. Results. The use of modern educational technology in the discipline "Chemistry" for the students of 208 speciality "Agro-engineering” on the basis of competence approach has allowed to reduce significantly the percentage of the theoretical concepts in the study of chemistry by the students of agricultural universities of natural sciences specialities. Discussion. Development of didactic learning complex of information support in teaching Chemistry for natural sciences specialities in educational institutions of our country.
