ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ПЕРЕКЛАДУ ХУДОЖНІХ ФІЛЬМІВ З ІТАЛІЙСЬКОЇ МОВИ НА УКРАЇНСЬКУ

Abstract
У статті досліджено особливості та проблеми перекладу кінофільмів. Проаналізовано науковий доробок, присвячений кіноперекладу та його особливостям. Виявлено та висвітлено основні перекладацькі труднощі у галузі кіноперекладу італомовних стрічок. The article explores the problems of translation of films and a number of peculiarities inherent in the translation of feature films. It is specially noted that film is kind of film art form, taking into consideration the characteristics of film translation will be most helpful for film translation study. Much attention is given to the disclosure of the term «film translation» and reveals the reasons for which the translation of feature films is closed to the translation of belles-lettres. The article gives a detailed analysis of classifications of the main types of film translation which are dubbling, subtitling and voice-over. The author clearly outlines that the work of translator of the film should be auxiliary one. A number of translation strategies of the movie titles such as literal translation, transformation of the title, substitution of the title, reduction of the original film title and linguistic calque are mentioned. Particular attention is paid to the establishment of equivalence relation between the original and the translated film text, so that both texts carry the same meaning and perform one function. Since equivalence is an important element in film translation process, it should be noted that at the first stage of film translation, working with editing sheets, equivalence is important because it is associated with such a communication factor as communicative intent. The author also points out that differences in the cultures of the two languages must also be saved during translation process. Because the translation of a film is always associated with technical difficulties two classifications of the film translation have been proposed. It is stressed that all difficulties that arise during the translation of the film can be divided into two groups: linguistic and technical one. The first group includes compliance with the rules of literary translation, translation and adaptation of the film text taking into account the culture differences and the speech register of the characters of the cinema film, right order of translated phrases according to the rules of the Ukrainian language, adequate translation of the film title which could fully reflect the idea. The second group is formulated by correspondence of the speech rate of the original film and the translated film material, adherence to the synchronicity and conception of the author. The text gives valuable information on contemporary problems of film translation, interpreters' classifications, the results of linguistic articles on film translation and the author’s personal conclusions based on mentioned sources. The article is of interest to those who study languages and translation, explore film translation problems and peculiarities or conduct a research translation.
