Peculiarities of the embodiment of the ideology of the counterculture in the American social thought

Abstract
Nonconformists with all its acuity for the first time revealed the problem of alienation, which a human being encountered in the XX century. The problem is, from the humanitarian point of view, primarily in its formulation, which essentially changes every time and each time requires a new solution. It was a problem of confrontation of consciousness and passion, the eternal struggle of the mind and the feelings, the head and the heart, and their confrontation in a new socio-historical situation. No element of this dichotomy is associated with this or any other ability and the skill of a person and is always based on an ethical choice of personality. If a person is intelligent, if he can measure his actions, and if he can give a logical assessment of the events of life, then we consider such a person to be a rationalist. Conversely, if a person is not indifferent to an event, chooses an emotional attitude and refuses to regulate his or her actions, then such people can be considered irrational.
