Abstract
The article is dedicated to the means of verbalization of linguistic imagology. The author analyzed the linguistic features of interpretation of the perception of Russians by French soldiers during the Russo-Turkish War (1853–1856). The memoirs of the French military, who took part in the war, were specifically selected for the analysis. This work fully covered the mid-nineteenth century events that took place on the Crimean peninsula. In addition, the French author provides a comprehensive assessment of the enemy’s army. In these studies different discourses were analyzed. The image of such large and complex objects as a country and people is a multidimensional category. The aim of the article was to consider these images. It was necessary to base on the terms system of imagology of comparative literary direction, developing it in relation to the lingo imagological material. So the following terms were introduced: macrolingoimagotheme, lingoimagotheme and lingoimagem. Macrolingoimagotheme – a common theme, which is analyzed from the perspective of lingo imagology. It is divided into lingoimagothemes, which in turn consist of lingoimagems. The volume of the article made it impossible to give examples of verbalization of all the lingoimagothemes. So the most widely covered are: «Russian combat effectiveness» and «evaluation of a Russian soldier’s image» in the eyes of the French military. Thus, verbalization of these lingoimagems is performed most often in the lexical, syntactic and phraseological linguistic aspects. The author makes the assumption that the most productive are the lexical and syntactic ones.
