WAR PRISONERS OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES IN FRONT-LINE CAMP No. 38

Abstract

On the basis of archival documents, the personal staff of the front-line camp for the war prisoners No. 38, which was created in 1944 in the suburbs of the town of Reni (Odessa region), is examined. The age of the war prisoners, their military ranks, nationality are analyzed. At the end of 1944, the camp contained about 4 thousand people: Germans, Hungarians, Italians, Yugoslavs, Austrians and others. Most of the prisoners died in the first half of 1945 from typhoid fever.
