A.P. CHEKHOV’S DRAMA «THE SEAGULL» AND IT’S CULTURAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL CONTEX

Abstract
In the article the A.P. Chekhov’s drama «The Seagull» is studied in the aspect of it’s connection with the epoch of existential crisis, loss of spiritual bases of life. Author of the article investigates as modern for Chekhov atmosphere of banality, that leveled life, caused a desire to appeal to the past (to the culture of Romantic epoch), and also to the ideas of Vl. Solovyov’s philosophy about the world soul. The same (as in Vl. Solovyov’ s philosophy) opposition is distinguished in Chekhov’s drama: the real space, which consists of great number of disintegrated elements vs divine order in which elements are united in a single harmonious organism
